The NJROTC unit at Brown was established in 1978 and is between 100-135 cadets. The unit has outstanding support from school administration including substantial financial assistance. Curtis Senior High School NJROTC Unit is seeking a dedicated, professional, conscientious, and highly motivated certified Navy, Marine Corps or Coast Guard Officer for the Senior Naval Science Instructor (SNSI) position beginning in the 2021-2022 school year. The school is located in University Place, Washington. The SNSI applicant must be willing to work after school, evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary to support the many unit events and activities, as well as, school and community events. Primary duties will include classroom instruction, general administration, academic mentoring, academic counseling, and unit finance. There will be additional responsibilities as assigned. The high school is located in a rural setting and has on average 550+ students enrolled. Applicants must understand that they will spend time after the normal school day and during some weekends overseeing extracurricular activities as well as actively participating in NJROTC summer leadership/training camps.
