Hazel Green High School seeking a retired Navy officer applicant to fill a Senior Naval Science Instructor (SNSI) vacancy. The position will be available 10 February 2021. The student population is approximately 1250. Hazel Green High School is one of the most active JROTC programs with excellent marksmanship and drill teams. The drill team won the National Championship in the Unarmed Platoon Basic Drill event at the National High School Drill Team Championships, Daytona, Florida in May 2018. The Color Guard is extremely professional and highly regarded within Northern Alabama resulting in many community requests for support. Cadets also participate in fitness team, academic team, Cyber Patriot, and community service. The unit has outstanding support from the Madison County School District, principals, teachers, and staff. Though the only Navy JROTC program in North Alabama, we have outstanding relationships with the numerous Army JROTC and several Air Force JROTC programs in the area.
