Naval Science Instructor (NSI) position immediately available at Robertsdale High School. RHS is a three-instructor unit with three classrooms and is designated a Distinguished Unit with Academic Honors. NJROTC certified applicants can be retired from the Navy, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard and should be highly motivated. Previous experience as an NSI is beneficial but not required. Applicants should be willing to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with school bus endorsement. The unit is located within 30 miles of bases in Pensacola, 20 miles from the beach at Gulf Shores/Orange Beach, is on a traditional seven-class schedule, draws cadets from both RHS and Elberta High School, and averages 165 cadets. NJROTC teams in the past five years have competed at the JLAB National Championship, Orienteering National Championship, Air Rifle National Championship, SeaPerch International Championship, and qualified for the Brain Brawl National Championship before it was cancelled due to COVID concerns. CyberPatriot team mentor was named the National Mentor of the Year two years ago. Unit hosts annual Area air rifle match and orienteering meet. STEM projects include SeaPerch and building rockets. The unit’s reputation has been built upon community service focusing on Toys for Tots, Ronald McDonald House, cancer awareness, and battered women’s shelters. The position is an 11-month contract at the Navy Minimum. The school is in Salinas, California, in the heart of the Monterey County agricultural region, about 30 minutes from beautiful Monterey Bay. The school’s namesake is retired Navy Commander and successful businessman, Everett Alvarez, Jr, a local Salinas native who also overcame the hardship of being the 2nd longest held POW of the Viet Nam War. This is a growing and re-building unit, originally established in 1995. The unit reduced to an NNDCC in 2012 due to low enrolment. Due to dedicated drive of the of the instructor, the unit flourished, and the unit regained full NJROTC status in 2017. The pandemic shut down has significantly hurt recruiting the past couple of years. Staring next school year our NS3 & NS4 classes will receive CTE credit, meeting 2 years of required graduation credit vs. only an elective. We are also working closely with the district to gain PE credit for NS1 &NS2 so that all four years can meet graduation requirements. We receive great community support and are very active in the community. Next school year our class schedules will be all 6 periods on M/T/F and Odd/Even blocks on W/Th. The Grenada High School is seeking a highly motivated Senior Naval Science Instructor who is knowledgeable in all aspects of Navy JROTC. In addition, the program is known for its total commitment to our local community, including all Veterans organizations. The unit averages 150 to 175 very active cadets at the high school. In addition, we have an associated LOTC Program with about 160 to 190 7th/8th grade cadets at Flour Bluff Junior High School. This is one of the premier NJROTC Programs with numerous Area Ten Texas State and Navy National Championships, as well as All Service National High School Drill Championships at Daytona. The program enjoys great support from parents and local community through our Booster Club and Flour Bluff ISD is very supportive of the program allowing the unit to continue to be very active in Drill, Marksmanship, CyberPatriot, StellarXplorers, JLAB, Brain Bowl, Academics, Orienteering, and Physical Fitness teams. Everett High School NJROTC is seeking a Senior Naval Science Instructor (SNSI). The port city of Everett overlooks the beautiful Puget Sound and Olympic mountains. It is the home of Everett Naval Station and Boeing. Seattle, the home of the Seahawks, Mariners, Sounders, Starbucks, Microsoft, Amazon, et al, is a 30-minute drive. Everett NJROTC fields Color Guard, Drill teams, Marksmanship, Athletics, Academics, Orienteering, and Cyber Patriot. We compete in a multi-service division of 8 schools and a conference of 30+ schools. We have dominated in several teams including Color Guard, Marksmanship and Academics. The unit was 3rd overall in the conference this season. The unit has exceeded minimum enrollment for the last 10 years in a high school of 1500 students. Seeking highly motivated officer (USN, USMC, or USCG) for the Lincoln High School NJROTC SNSI position located in Shinnston, West Virginia (approximately 30 miles south of Morgantown) for fill on 1 July 2022. The high school is located in a rural setting and has on average 550+ students enrolled. Applicants must understand that they will spend time after the normal school day and during some weekends overseeing extracurricular activities as well as actively participating in NJROTC summer leadership/training camps.
